Another Cool Deal

Yeap, 4.5 Billions mobile phones are in the market. That’s almost 3/4 of the population.
Do you know which is the top mobile platform to create content/services on? SMS !! Then comes wallpapers, ringtones, mobile web, then J2ME, Flash Lite and so on….
Smartphones represent less then 20% of the mobile market. Great potential for growth. Yes, but they are expensive. There are only 500 M 3G connection in the market.
Mobile internet access has passed computer based access. So more people access the internet via their mobile phones. This will only increase.
It’s really interesting to read “mobile experts” who thinks that everyone has an iPhone.
First who is in the mobile business knows perfectly that what Apple is doing is what Operators/Carriers have done forever. Lock their customers. Nothing wrong here. But in some markets works, in others, more mature, does not work anymore. But Apple is not the market, it’s a minor part of the market. A successful one (for them), but close. The fact that you need an apple device to develop for their other devices tells you where is their business. It’s working for them so no issue. Maybe!

The iPhone is great, for some, not for all. And in US it’s like the Tamagogi! Every cool kid has it. Right, ask them which previous phone they had!
